In this nature full of mysteries, I deeply feel that the natural resources and rich environment provided by nature enable human beings to be self-sufficient. This prompted me to think about how to use scientific knowledge to bring about substantial changes to mankind?
In my early years as a student, I felt confused about my future direction. In college classes, when listening to professors teach various novel and cutting-edge biotechnology theories, I always feel that these concepts are hanging in the air and difficult to apply concretely.
While living in Hualien, I made like-minded friends and got in-depth contact with the culture of Taiwan’s aboriginal tribes that respect nature. This experience helped me establish my future entrepreneurial philosophy: to create a company that combines "tribal culture" and "ocean culture" and focuses on developing synthetic biotechnology, which not only benefits all mankind but also protects nature.
When I was in graduate school, I was fortunate enough to participate in the Institute of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering at Chang Gung Memorial University in Taiwan, where I collaborated with Professor Liu Yuguo's "Natural Products Mass Production Laboratory" and Professor Huang Lifen to conduct research on the production of human protein drugs from plant cells. This "plant cell fermentation system" is based on plant stem cells and uses "synthetic biology" gene editing technology to achieve large-scale production of animal or human proteins. This technology is currently unique in the world and has become a key technology patent when BioBunBan was founded.
The origin of the company name BioBunBan is related to my deep affection for nature. "Bio" represents the technical barrier for the company's founding, which is "synthetic biotechnology", while "BunBan" refers to Taiwan's unique salmon species "Taiwan Sakura Gelsemium", symbolizing our business attitude of never forgetting our original aspirations.
In 2021, I established BioBunBan with like-minded partners. As a supplier of pharmaceutical, food and cosmetic raw materials, we remain true to our original aspirations and are committed to producing better quality biological raw materials. We will never be complacent and always maintain a challenger attitude. BioBunBan is like a volcanic island in the Pacific Ocean, full of passion and desire to change the world and make it more environmentally friendly, free and comfortable. As a biotechnology company, we are based on the biological principles of nature's genes, maintain awe and gratitude for nature, and keep in mind the concept of drinking water and remembering its source. BioBunBan's vision is not only innovative technology, but also a deep gratitude to nature and continuous challenge to the unknown.
